Ten years ago, a ten-year-old girl named Clay was the only survivor of a terrifying cult. Somehow she managed to escape, but she knows she can never stop running. The cult members died while worshiping a demon, and now that demon has returned.

As she tries to stay one step ahead of her pursuer, Clay starts to realize that she might be facing a losing battle. Attaroth is too powerful to be held back forever, and he was promised a human body. Wherever Clay goes, the demon is only one step behind, and Clay finally understands that she's going to have to do the one thing she's always avoided.

She's going to have to face the demon and find some way to stop it. And if she fails, she'll be allowing a horrific entity to take its place in the world.
