BROKEN WINDOW (THE HOUSE OF JACK THE RIPPER BOOK 1)

Maddie Harper is homeless, living on the streets of London. She's been told about a mysterious abandoned house, one that everyone avoids. She knows she should do the same, but one night – terrified and badly injured – she decides to take a risk. A window at the back of the house is broken, so Maddie climbs through and goes inside.

This is no ordinary house. More than a century earlier, it belonged to England's most notorious killer. This was the home of the man known to history as Jack the Ripper, whose true story has remained shrouded in mystery. Until now.

As she explores the house, Maddie starts to realize that something is very wrong. For one thing, the basement contains what seems to be an old operating theater. For another, there are tattered notebooks detailing a series of gruesome medical experiments. And then there's the bell in one of the old bedrooms, which occasionally rings even though it's covered in a thick layer of dust.
