On the brink of death, Lord Matthew Fetchford insists he must return to his ancestral home. Aldburn Park has been empty for many years, but Lord Fetchford is determined to finally go back and face the horrors of his past.

To prepare for his journey, Lord Fetchford sends his butler Mr. Lawrence ahead, to open the house up and get everything ready. Mr. Lawrence has a deep understanding of the house's history, including some of the subtle, unspoken tragedies that have occurred. For both men, many things are best left unsaid.

Others, however, do not agree. Something is lurking at Aldburn Park, patiently waiting for a chance to gain revenge. What really happened to Lord Fetchford's wife Catherine, and what nightmares await as the house is reopened from its long slumber?
