After moving to a new home in the English countryside, Maisie immediately misses her old life. At least she still has her beloved dog Hugo to keep her company in Caldgrave House, a rotten and crumbling old house that's desperately in need of repair.

Hugo, however, has already begun to notice that something's not right. Strange, scentless figures move around the house, seemingly unnoticed by the humans. A woman with a broken jaw keeps going into Maisie's bedroom and watching her while she sleeps. And when Hugo digs up a damaged copy of the Bible in the garden, he starts to realize that something's very wrong in the new house. But can he warn his owners in time?

The Haunting of Caldgrave House is a haunted house horror novel with a big difference: it's told from the dog's point of view! As Hugo struggles to save his family, his unique abilities give him a few key advantages, but he also finds himself powerless to act as dark forces reach out to take Maisie.
