One year ago, Ramsey Kopperud made a deal to save her father's life. Now she's living in fear, terrified that at any moment Sebastian might emerge from the forest and announce that the deal is off.

Meanwhile, many years earlier, a young man falls in love with a beautiful witch. Sebastian was once just a simple farmer, but over time he grew bitter and resentful. As his hopes for happiness fade, Sebastian must make a terrible choice, and this choice will have deadly consequences not only for his own life but also – many years later – for Ramsey as she fights to save the town.
